After saying a few words, I shared the following poem:
The Central Coast
The Central Coast is one of the most beautiful places on earth
A spectacular vicinity, offering Nature’s divinity
Set with significant sites abundant with Aboriginal worth
A precious land rich in biodiversity
Magnificent beauty beside the sea
Pristine beaches with awesome surf
Bursting with wildlife, this place is so alive
Where endangered species and all living beings can exist quite peacefully
But this land is threatened
By the dreadful intention
To plant an enormous coal mine, right where it shouldn’t be
Under the Central Coast’s main water supply
An absolute far cry
To the basic rights of humanity
